Possible Career Change

OK as some of you already may know i have been working for Rose Radiology in Palm Harbor for a little over a year now, well this past October we opened our 10Th facility located in Largo, FL!! Business is good i guess you can say! Well last week they asked if i would go down for 2 days to "help" get the girls they hired all up to speed. My Supervisor and her Supervisor both have said many times that i am an excellent trainer and so i was chosen to go. I wasn't really expecting much, the drive is quite long for me as i live in Pasco County but i said OK! The Facility is BEAUTIFUL everything is brand new!!!! anyways, 2 days turned into all week and Friday they asked if I wanted to stay permanently! There will be a raise involved of course to make the long drive worth it but the most surprising part is the director of that center wants to make me the front desk supervisor!!!!! This is HUGE! I have never thought of myself as supervisor material always just wanted to go in do my time and leave but i must admit i am excited about this potential change in job descriptions. I know there will be much more involved with the everyday than what i do now but i think I'm finally at a point in my life where I'm ready to take on this challenge. The director has even said i can custom pick my schedule so i can avoid the majority of traffic coming and going!!! And the best part is NO MORE WORKING NIGHTS and NO WEEKENDS!! two things if i stayed in Palm Harbor i would be doing for sure! Lots less stress to deal with, other than the drive i don't see any negatives to this adventure. I will be sure to keep you all posted. Until then..... Peace out!

Family Fun Day

Last Saturday we took the kids to Heritage Village in Largo. My parents, Jeff and I Rachel, Brandon and Josh ( Brandons best friend) all headed down to have a picnic in the park then spent the day looking at the old houses it was a lot of fun. The weather was perfect! We even got to take the tour of the seven gables house and actually go upstairs! Brandon and Josh had a blast! Mom and dad took Jeffs convertible down mom seems to love that car and we followed in her car the boys had the wind blowing thru their hair, we couldnt have asked for a better weekend it was so nice to be all together as a family and do something fun together! Can't wait until the next gathering.

New Addition to the family

This is our new baby Chalupa. He is 8 weeks old. He is a mix between a Chihuahua and a min pin called a chipin. Chalupa is very playful and loves to snuggle with me and Jeff in bed. Right now he pounces like a cat and doesnt really bark he has a 'growl" he does when he wants to play. He is doing very well with potty training has not popped in the house but has peed a few times or should i say piddled. He likes to chase your feet and chew on hair and he gives lots of kisses with his puppy breath.

September update

W0w! Can you believe another month has come and gone? Where does the time go. Well I'm going to try and give monthly updates on here to keep us all posted on the on goings for the Frist family so here is the latest: we recently moved out of the house on Bayshore Dr and into Park place apartments in Pasco county. We did this because Jeff took a second job working for the complex as the community security officer after hours when the staff leaves but in order to do this you had to live on site. Its a smaller place than we had but we made it work for us. Rachel has her own bedroom and Brandon shares with Jeff and I but the room is plenty big enough so no one gets in anyones way. You may notice i didn't mention Dacoda, that's because he recently moved back to North Carolina with his mom, More on that later.

The children are settling quite nicely in their new schools and i even think Rachel likes her classes more than she will admit to us. Brandon is in the 5th grade and Rachel is in 8th grade! She has taken Spanish this year which will help her tremendously when she goes to get a job down the road as many of you know Spanish is very popular in Florida...... This leads me to dacoda he was supposed to start his senior year but due to his lack of study habits and poor GPA the school told him he would not be able to graduate this year and that seemed to have set off a downward spiral of emotions with him he decided it was in his best interest to move back home with his mom so Jeff and i let him go, he said it had nothing to do with any of that but we both know its because we were trying to "control" him with parenting rules and restrictions to what he can and can not do so back he went and we wish him well!! Last i heard he was dropping out of school officially and getting his GED then who knows what he will do.
Recently Jeff had a few visits to the Dr for an on going back issue that on July 1 decided to rear its ugly head again and render him almost unable to walk for a few days, we took hiom to the ER and they did xrays and found out he has spina bifida occulta /spyndiolisis anyways he was home for a week then went to the regular dr who recommended he go to a back specialist who in turn basically said the type of work Jeff does puts UN needed pressure on his spine and he needs to strengthen his back muscles and watch what he does to prevent further injury. He is ok now but that was a scary few days for us all...... the on Aug 31 Brandon was admitted to Mease Countryside hospital with what we later found out was walking pneumonia (mycoplasma )and stomach flu he had it so bad he was dehydrated to the point where he literally looked like he was dying, i took him in for what i thought was just a nagging cough and a cold that wouldn't go away, boy am i glad i took him in! The hospital hooked him up on iv fluids overnight and he immediately started to look better he had more things poked and prodded but he was a sport. I think he liked the fact that he could call room service whenever he wanted because once they gave him the all clear to eat again he was on that phone ordering food!!! He is now doing better and went back to school Friday.
Lets hope we never have to do that again!!

new happenings at the Frist house

Well here it is almost the end of Summer and there are some changes going on here in the frist household. For starters we are moving out of Uncle Mannys house next weekend, Jeff took a second job at an Apt complex in Port Richey as a part time security officer and you have to live on site. We are both excited to start this new chapter in our lives but dread the moving process.....while we are grateful to have had the opportunity to live here in Tarpon our time has come to move on. The kids are not so thrilled as they will once again be starting new schools but Brandon is excited to be moving somewhere where they have a pool....Dacoda has begun the process of meeting with the marine recruiter and getting his ducks in a row so to speak, he really wants to enlist this next summer when he graduates, altho the recruiter gave him a bit of bad news ( nothing we havent already told him but he didnt believe us) that is his GPA needs to improve in order to qualify and the school has told him he must make at least all "c" in order to graduate because as it stands now his GPA is low....He has been dating the girl next door for 2 months now and wants to get his drivers licence soon too. Thats about all for now

Girls weekend @ Cheryls

What a wonderful time we had a few weeks ago @ Cheryls house. Aunt Judy, my mom and myself headed over to the east coast ( Aunt Eileen and Steph went with us  in our thoughts they stayed behind to be with Uncle Dave and they were greatly missed) for a weekend full of relaxation and food. Cheryl had a Portugueese themed weekend planned where all the meals  had a hint of our heritage in them. We played triominos and told stories and laughed the whole weekend. Saturday we headed out to the local portugeese corner store that was really neat to see so much of the things i have heard about growing up in one place... mom and Aunt Judy were retelling childhood memories as we shopped it was really fun, then we went to the pottery barn where we spent what seemed like hours going up and down the aisles looking for bargins ( and we found quite a few of them too) SUnday morning started with breakfast and gifts for all then off to Cheryls church for sunday morning service..... then to lunch at a deli then we drove back to the west coast to share our story with everyone. Jeff made ribs for dinner and it was the perfect ending to a well needed restful weekend heres a few pics i took to share with you all.... hope to do this again soon it was so much fun! Thanks to Cheryl for all you did it was awesome!!

Springtime update

Well i guess its time that i update  a bit, things here at the frist house have been busy. For starters Dacoda moved in with us about 3 weeks ago, he and Brandon are sharing a room and we have enrolled him in Tarpon High. He seems to be liking it so far, he has 1 year left of school and is still talking about joining the marines when he graduates. Jeff is enjoying having ALL his kids in the same house, it has been a bit of an adjustment for Rachel who is not liking having to share computer time but other than that she likes having her big brother here and Brandon is on cloud nine!
Speaking of rachel she s about to turn 13 this Thursday! I cant believe my baby girl is now officially a teenager, seems like only yesterday i was cuddling her in my arms now shes grown up and no longer fits in my lap..... Jeffs  just had his 40th birthday last month we bought him a 78 ford pick up baby blue ( ugliest truck i have ever seen) but he likes it so thats all that matters! He is still deciding what he wants to be when he grows up but for now he still works in St.pete for Fidelity but i think hes getting tired of the commute everyday..... my job is well a job, i dont like working and im not afraid to let everyone know that but right now i have to so i guess its a good job! We hired some new people so hopefully things will settle down a bit and not be so stressfull but then again i do work in the medical field so stress goes hand in hand i guess......thats about all thats going on for now i will update again as things change
